Optimisation SME (Electricity System Operator) Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Optimisation SME (Electricity System Operator) to be based in their client's office in Wokingham , UK. This is a hybrid role - you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Wokingham office 3 days per week. This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start ASAP. Day rate: Competitive Market rate. This is a pivotal role for Electricity System Operator balancing program and work with Business and QA and Developer to support the testing and development of the Modern Dispatch Optimisation Algorithm Key Responsibilities: Work with the project team and the customer team on the Dispatch algorithm as part of Balancing Transformation programs Support in quality assurance and development of modern optimisation algorithm Coordinate with different functional teams and business to review and test scenarios Perform the exploratory test on and find the defects and observation Help in the development for requirement tools and automation of testing the algorithm Key Requirements: Experience solving the optimisation problem using various techniques Strong understanding of developing custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets Strong understanding of mathematical programming solver available for LP, QP and MIP (MILP, MIQP, and MIQCP) problems Understanding of data collection, preprocessing and analysis Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets Python, Gurobi Optimizer Optimisation problem solving Bachelor's/master's degree in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering or similar technical domain Due to the volume of applications received, unfortunately we cannot respond to everyone.
