Rate: £775 per day (umbrella)

Are you a talented Scala Developer with a passion for cutting-edge technology? Our client, a leading player in the banking industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Scala Developer to join their team. In this role, you will be working as a senior software engineer, contributing to the development of their core engineering team and making significant changes to their strategic platform.

Here's what you'll be doing as part of their team:

• Working on a ReactJS Web UI and Scala-based services, providing APIs and data transformation and ingestion capabilities.
• Engineering a highly responsive user interface using ReactJS and contributing to JavaScript library components.
• Building robust APIs that support the user interface.
• Collaborating with other senior Software Engineers and Business Analysts to deliver solutions that meet project requirements.
• Contributing across the full project life cycle, from design to L3 support.

Here's what our client is looking for in a Scala Developer:

• Extensive knowledge of ReactJS and experience in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong experience in Scala, preferably in a modern OO language environment.
• Familiarity with Cypress testing framework.
• Practicing Test Driven Development and following clean code principles.
• Experience with Shell Script, Ansible, Jenkins, or other build tooling.
• Proficiency in reactive event sourced systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical designs and concepts.
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills and experience working in Agile environments.
• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite of tools - JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.
