Data Center Technician

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Datacenter Technician to join our global technology clients team. This is an initial 6 months contract with possible extension into 2025. As a Datacenter Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the data center infrastructure. Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and Setup:
    • Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of data center equipment (racks, hard drives, Switches) following specific instructions, checklists, and standard protocols.
    • Ensure proper grounding, labeling, and cabling according to safety protocols and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
  • Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
    • Quickly identify and troubleshoot hardware issues using standard procedures.
    • Replace faulty components as needed.
  • Decommissioning:
    • Decommission hardware for simple changes (eg, memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following established procedures.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Follow procedures to communicate incidents and escalate issues to Datacenter Technician Leads.
    • Collaborate effectively with team members.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of computer hardware, Servers, and components.
  • 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Previous datacenter experience is a must
