This role will carry out some or all of the following activities Perform a Technical Project Management role for large zSeries infrastructure deployment and evergreening projects Setup automation to reduce manaual interventions in the Storage infrastructure Test new software and exploit functionality Consolidate and reduce infrastructure complexity Risk and Cost Management Ensure Service Quality Targets are met for offered platform services Business stakeholder management Vendor liaison and management zSeries Storage hardware/software design, configuration, testing, implementation and support Impact on the Business/Function Regular qualification and testing of hardware/software/microcode for security and big fix, new features and functionality Code to be certified and released within timeframe of given CSVS Customers/Stakeholders Investigation and implementation of new technologies to deliver solutions with optimal TCO for the organisation whilst meeting core business requirements Architecture and engineering design activity to support business and domain requirements Production of high-quality supporting documentation for all engineered solutions for operational consumption All new releases to be fully agreed by all stakeholders Leadership & Teamwork Support for Storage teams for normal operation, migration and infrastructure transformation projects Working collaboratively with peers across domains/disciplines and with vendors/partners to deliver high quality solutions Working with an Agile mentality, rapid delivery iterated with features and components through the solution development life cycle Attend team meetings and 1-2-1s. Demonstrate domain leadership as a storage SME. Operational Effectiveness & Control Key focus on development of automation tooling to reduce manual interaction at every opportunity Demonstrate a reduction in manual operational processes and increased operational efficiency.
