The Role:
Aligned with my client's vision of a digitally connected UK, the experienced marketing lead for the public sector will be at the forefront of the company's public affairs and campaign strategies. The ideal candidate will engage closely with government entities and industry bodies to lead marketing efforts by creating and implementing initiatives that drive awareness.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Public Relations and Thought Leadership: Craft compelling content and execute PR strategies.
- Public Affairs Engagement: Lead public affairs campaigns and collaborate with customers' teams to maximise lobbying efforts.
- Campaign Strategy: Design targeted communication strategies for government engagement.
- Policy Support and Advocacy: Monitor legislative developments and support policy submissions.
- Media and Government: Manage press inquiries and secure positive media coverage.
- Copywriting: Produce high-quality content for blogs, newsletters, speeches, and reports, ensuring a consistent brand voice across public sector communications.
Requirements:
- Essential Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in public affairs, with a proven ability to lead marketing efforts in the public sector, ideally within the telecoms or infrastructure industries)
- Stakeholder Management: Experience in managing senior relationships with government bodies, industry stakeholders, and media.
- Strategic Vision: Critical and creative thinking with an aptitude for driving high-level strategic initiatives and detailed campaigns.
- Project Management: Organisational skills with the ability to manage complex projects and campaigns simultaneously.
