Assembly Support Engineer (IC Packaging)

Initial 12 month contract + extensions possible

Leuven, Belgium (Hybrid working, 2-3 days onsite per week)

An assembly Support Engineer works with customer and OSATs to ensure that integrated circuits are packaged correctly. This involves working with a variety of teams, including design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance teams.

The assignment

• Provide technical support to customer on assembly processes, qualifications, and materials.
• Ensure delivery of packaged components in time to the customer.
• Ensures quality and reliability of assembled components.
• Work with suppliers to source and qualify new packaging materials and components.
• Generate reports on packaging yields, defects, and other relevant metrics.

Required knowledge and skills

• Knowledge of semiconductor packaging technologies, materials, and processes.
• Familiarity with industry standards and specifications for IC packaging.
• Analytical skills to identify root causes of problems and develop solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the IC packaging process.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
