NDT Technician - LEVEL 3 Ultrasonic Testing - £27 per hour PAYE - 24 Months + - Blackburn - Single Stage Interview Process

Our aviation client, a leading player in the aerospace sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced NDT Technician specializing in Level 3 Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-stakes projects involving cutting-edge aerospace technologies, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee ultrasonic non-destructive testing (UT) processes on aerospace components and structures.
  • Develop, review, and approve NDT techniques, procedures, and reports.
  • Perform and supervise inspections to detect flaws, discontinuities, and other defects per aerospace industry standards.
  • Provide Level 3 certification training and mentoring to junior NDT technicians.
  • Conduct technical assessments and support root cause analysis in collaboration with quality and engineering teams.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspection results and work closely with clients to communicate findings.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and production, to optimize testing methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Level 3 certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), ideally certified to NAS 410, EN 4179, or equivalent.
  • Strong background in NDT applications within the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in advanced UT techniques, such as phased array or time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD), is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in interpreting codes, standards, and specifications (eg, ASTM, ISO, MIL-STD).
  • Proven ability to train and mentor NDT personnel and lead technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
