Secondary Design Engineer | Bristol, Ad hoc travel | Outside IR35

I am looking for a Secondary Design Engineer on 6 month basis to join a known Renewable Energy business who can come in and work on projects up to 132kV. You will also be required to assist in the conceptual design of various types of energy projects, principally Solar Farms and Battery Energy Storage System facilities.

• Design:
  • Development of Conceptual secondary designs up to 132kV (Contestable and Private Networks)
  • Development of detailed secondary designs up to 132kV (Contestable and Private Networks)
• AC/DC Schematics
• General Arrangements
• Wiring Diagrams
• Interconnection diagrams
• Cable Block Diagrams
• Cable Schedules
• Core Sheets
  • Development of standard secondary design schemes for 33/66/132kV systems.
  • Development of Bill of Materials to be issued to Panel Manufacturers.
  • Support Panel Manufacturers queries.
  • Support on site Secondary Design issues - Red/Green markup drawings.
  • Produce full suite of As Built Secondary Design drawings

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in secondary design
• EHV substation project design experience up to 132kv
• AutoCAD
• Excellent knowledge of all published guidelines, ENA standards, policies and procedures, from national and international standards to DNO and EP policies, to ensure satisfactory delivery of work
• A sound knowledge of engineering design principles.
• An understanding of construction methods.
